Chad Ochocinco admitted it last season: Last season, for him, was a disaster. Now it appears as though he's putting his money where his mouth is.
Ochocinco has agreed to restructure his contract for the 2012 season, lowering his base salary to 1 million from the 3 million.
Ochocinco, 34, caught just 15 passes for 276 yards and a touchdown, but the restructured deal means that he will return to Patriots training camp this summer.
He'll be one of many receivers in camp. The Patriots added Brandon Lloyd, Donte' Stallworth and Anthony Gonzalez this offseason. Deion Branch agreed to a one-year deal to return and Wes Welker received the team's franchise tag. Julian Edelman is also under contract and will get receiver reps.
ESPN was the first to report the story.
