At 9-3, the New England Patriots currently sit behind the Denver Broncos as the number two seed in the AFC.
With just four games left in the season, if the Patriots want to hold onto the second seed and a first-round bye in the playoffs, there is no room for error.
Mike Florio joined Tom E. Curran on Quick Slants to discuss how the AFC playoff seeding will work out for the Patriots.
“If I’m a Patriots fan, I’m a little more concerned about the team that’s right behind me because the Cincinnati Bengals, one game back, hold that head-to-head tiebreaker over the Patriots,” Florio said. “The Patriots slip up and the Bengals take advantage, Bengals rise to the number two seed as weird as that may sound.”
Last week added to a tough season for officiating crews, as many believe something has to change.
“The NFL keeps trying to make the officiating better within the mindset that currently is in place,” Florio said. “I think it is going to take creative thinking to truly make officiating better. I think that a major overhaul needs to happen.”
