Early in the season, many fans asked if the real Tom Brady could please stand up? Well, Brady has silenced his critics from earlier in the year as he has played his best football of late.

Brady outplayed Peyton Manning on Sunday night, as Brady completed 34-of-50 passes for 344 yards and three touchdowns.

Tom E. Curran on Quick Slants discussed how the talk about Brady’s demise at the beginning of the season came far too quick.

“People were frantic about Tom Brady’s hand, about his age, about his succession plan,” Curran said. “The only thing missing was a Ryan Mallet billboard out there on Route 1. Apparently the guy who threw 109 touchdown passes and 24 picks the previous three years had completely lost it.”

Mary Paoletti used her time to talk about the Patriots upcoming game against the Houston Texans, which might pose more problems than people think.

“Who thought when New England’s 2013 schedule was released that the game against Houston might be a trap game,” Paoletti said. “The Patriots by all accounts should kill the Texans, unless they buy into their own hype – caught off toppling Denver – they could be in danger of not taking the Texans seriously.”
