Many fans want to see Wes Welker back at Gillette Stadium. Well, they will get the chance Sunday night, but Welker will be wearing a Denver Broncos uniform.

Welker tested the free agent market this past offseason and instead of returning to the Patriots, decided to join forces with Peyton Manning out in Denver.

Tom E. Curran on Quick Slants discusses why it’s a lie to say the Patriots didn’t want Welker.

“What did the Patriots do wrong? They should have been more transparent,” said Curran on what happened with Welker in the offseason. “They should have let everyone know, ‘look we have Welker here, we made him an offer. He wants to test the market. We will move on if we need to.’ And then they should have said ‘We’ve already agreed to business with Danny Amendola.’ Because then we wouldn’t have had the idea there was a bidding war going on with Denver.”

Mary Paoletti on Quick Slants discussed why the Tom Brady versus Peyton Manning storyline shouldn’t be hyped up anymore.

“This is one of the greatest rivalries in sports,” Paoletti said. “It’s always going to be a good game. But what I am saying is there is nothing the hype machine can add to this.”
