New England Patriots’ cornerback Alfonzo Dennard could be hearing from Roger Goodell in the near future.
Dennard received 30 days of additional jail time on Thursday and will be back in a Lincoln, Nebraska, courtroom Friday on a DUI charge.
Bob Neumeier, Lou Merloni and Mike Flynn discussed on Sports Tonight what action Goodell will take.
“I don’t know what the rush is for him,” Flynn said. “I know they are going to look into it. I don’t know how much he wants to – late in the season – vying for playoff positioning going into the playoffs, he may just wait until next year and have it come down next year.”
Whether Goodell decides, it will not change the face that Dennard will face jail time come March.
“At some point reality is going to, that it is 60 days in prison,” Merloni said. “I’m going to jail for 60 days. And when I come out of camp, I’m suspended for the first two.”
