Josh McDaniels has withdrawn himself for consideration for the Browns coaching job.

Josh McDaniels confirmed Monday that he did meet with the Browns about their head coaching vacancy.

“We met and that’s about all there is at this point,” he said during a noontime conference call. “Nothing further.”

Earlier today I told you I had $25 riding on this being McDaniels’ initial response to a question about the interview:

“I appreciate the interest but really my focus is on the Indianapolis Colts right now and the challenges their defense presents.”

His actual response?

“I appreciate the question. I understand it. I know that that’s something that comes up each time this year for other coaches. The opportunities are certainly flattering if they come up. That said, I’m gonna try to keep my focus on the Colts and our preparation this week. Like I’ve said in the past, I’m fortunate to have the job I have. I love doing what I’m doing and each opportunity that comes along is a little different. I’m gonna leave it at that.”

I think I win. Do I win? I think I win.
