The Patriots have yet to really ramp things up, but when they do, expect Darrelle Revis to catch on rather quickly.

A top cornerback in the NFL, Revis signed with the Patriots over the offseason as the Pats restocked their secondary. Brandon Browner was also added, further making the Patriots a force on defense.

Devin McCourty will man the free safety position for the Patriots, and while he knows the team's system and schemes like the back of his hand, Revis needs a 101 course in it. Once that's done, Revis should be the Revis we're all accustomed to seeing.

"I think the only really adjustment for him is just learning that new system," McCourty said on NBC Sports Radio. "He's a guy who he's carried himself great throughout his entire career, so I don't think it's a huge adjustment of him having to get used to the way we do things. I think it's more just scheme things, terminology, just getting used to hearing everything for the first time in a new system. A lot of stuff, when it comes to football he knows he's a very smart player, but now it's trying to talk the same language as everybody else, how we describe things and how we talk about things."

You can bet a lot of that learning goes on in the film room. That, said McCourty, is where Bill Belichick is at his best - not just with his knowledge, but with his personality.

"He's pretty funny," McCourty said of Belichick. "He's in the meetings and stuff. He'll have the whole team dying in laughter as we sit there in meetings and he's going through different things. When you get him off the media and doing all of that stuff and he gets more into his comfort zone where it's him teaching football and teaching guys life lessons, you get to see a different side of him so I think that's the joy of playing for him. You learn things football-wise and he does a good job for each one of us just trying to give us some lessons that will help you in life."
