The Patriots manhandled the Ravens in Baltimore on Sunday, getting a superb performance on both sides of the field.
Patriots guard turned tackle Logan Mankins joined CSNNE's Mike Giardi after the game to talk about the win. There was definitely a little extra sense of enjoyment after this one.
"That was great. They always think they're better than we are," Mankins said of the Ravens. "So to come in here when they're trying to make the playoffs and really put it on them, that's really a great feeling."
Mankins noted that both the offense and defense was physical on Sunday, and that played a big part in the win.
"We ran the ball good. We had fairly good protection today," Mankins said. "I think there was a few times they got to Tom, I know I let up that one sack. Thought I had [Terrell Suggs]. Thought I got enough on him. A little bit more I think I would have gotten him shoved by Tom but that's the way it goes when you're playing against a good player. But the defense played great. They really looked awesome out there."
He was happy overall with his performance at the tackle position this week, and having gone up against a player like Suggs, he knew he had to be ready.
"Yeah, I wanted to do a good job," Mankins said. "I didn't know if I was going to do a good job, but I wanted to. I really studied hard this week and just tried to watch how guys that had a little bit of success. [Suggs] gets everyone, even the best tackles in the league. I'm pretty pleased with the way it went, except for that one play I wish I could try that one over."
