What a world of difference a half of football can make.
After struggling in the first half and trailing 17-3 at halftime against the Miami Dolphins, the New England Patriots came out and put up 24 unanswered points to win 27-17.
Logan Mankins joined Kevin Walsh on PostGame Live to discuss what went on at halftime that led to the Patriots big second half.
“I think a lot of guys were frustrated with their play,” Mankins said. “I know myself personally, I didn’t play very good in that first half. I was pretty fired up at myself there at halftime. We made adjustments and guys did a better job of executing. I think we might have played a little harder, finished a lot better. And it really helped us.”
In the second half, the Patriots received contributions from both their offense and defense leading to their sixth win of the season.
“That second half was some good complementary football,” Mankins said. “Defense made some big plays. We took advantage of them. It was good team football.”
