Kraft, Wynn suspend plans for Foxboro casino

If you were waiting for a casino to be built in Foxboro, a gambling haven within a stone's throw from Patriots Place, don't hold your breath.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft and casino developer Steve Wynn announced Tuesday they are suspending plans to build a casino in Foxboro on land owned by Kraft.

On Monday, Foxboro voters elected two anti-casino members to the town's Board of Selectmen.

"With Mondays election, we believe the citizens of Foxboro have spoken," the Kraft Group said in a statement released this afternoon, via the Boston Globe. "As we originally committed, we have heard them and respect their collective voice. With that democratic statement, as opposed to the voices of five individuals, we will be suspending our efforts regarding a destination resort development."
