Dustin Keller, whose 2013 season was ruined by a dirty, rotten, filthy hit in a preseason game against the Texans, is in Foxboro for a visit with the Patriots.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the visit, which we were able to confirm,

It’s a tire-kicking we’ve been expecting for a little while since the still-young Keller (29) is a terrific offensive weapon when healthy.

The health is the question. Keller had his ACL, MCL and PCL torn and his kneecap dislocated on a hit by D.J. Swearinger in the preseason. Keller was in his first season with the Dolphins after spending the first five years of his career with the Jets.

His agent Eugene Parker recently said his client is “good to go.”

The Patriots are surely checking out that appraisal. A move on Keller may not happen until after the draft when the Patriots can see what they rustle up from the college ranks.
