FOXBORO -- Darrelle Revis, perhaps the finest corner on God’s green earth (according to Rex Ryan depending on the time of day and fullness of his belly), was dealt to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers less than a week ago.

The “Help Wanted” sign was taken down Thursday night when the Jets took Alabama corner Dee Milliner with the ninth overall pick.

Milliner, 6-feet and 201 pounds, will be paired with  Antonio Cromartie at the back end of the Jets' once-proud defense. He may not be a savior, but he certainly is a start.

The junior is adept at causing turnovers and putting a blanket on high-quality receivers. He’ll no doubt see a lot of Danny Amendola in 2013.

The Patriots now have two top-tier defenders to deal with in the AFC East -- Dion Jordan in Miami and Milliner. And with the 13th pick, the Jets selected defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson from Missouri.
