There's one huge obstacle getting in the way of the Patriots trading for Darrelle Revis: the money he's owed.
Revis comes with a hefty $16 million per year contract, and even if the Patriots were fine with it, they'd need to make corresponding moves to keep them under the cap while still fielding a full squad. That means cutting players.
One of the players on the team due to make $11.6 million next season is Vince Wilfork. It seems unlikely that the Pats are going to pay Vince the money due on his deal after the injury he's coming off of. Of course, there's a chance they can re-structure his current deal and extend him, making the cap hit this season much less.
But let's say for the sake of discussion the money just doesn't work with both Revis and Wilfork on the team. Which players would you rather have?
