With the bye week in the rear view mirror, the talk now is all about how the Patriots offense will fair against a vaunted Carolina Panthers’ defense.
The Patriots offense exploded two weeks ago for 55 points against the Steelers, but Carolina’s defense shut down San Francisco’s offense last week and held them to nine points.
Andy Hart on Patriots Football Weekly talked about the matchups that will have an impact on the outcome of the game.
“I hope the Patriots offensive line is well rested because they have their challenge of the year with the Panthers defensive front,” Hart said. “The key to the defense is the front of that line. They stop the run. They pressure the quarterback. Biggest challenge of the season for Logan Mankins and this offensive line Monday night in Carolina.”
Coming into the game, the Patriots’ offense struggles on third down, while the Panthers’ defense excels on third down.
“The Patriots need to stay on the field, Panthers want to get them off the field,” Hart said. “Whoever wins that battle may very well win that game.”
