When the Patriots signed Jabar Gaffney and Donte' Stallworth, everybody said the same thing: "Oh look, Brady has all of his favorite targets back!"
Now? Not so much. Gaffney and Stallworth got the boot on "cut day" today.
Patriots Football Weekly's Andy Hart says not every single one of Brady's "binkies" can make the team, and he should have enough of them with Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd, Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, and Deion Branch.
If your name is Tom or Brady -- first name, last name, doesn't matter -- you can go to a Pawtucket Red Sox game for free next week.
The PawSox announced today that Friday, June 10 will be "Free Brady Friday," in which any fans named Tom and/or Brady will be admitted to McCoy Stadium at no charge. In addition, box seats -- normally priced at $13 -- will cost $12 in honor of Brady's uniform number. And the team says that every box seat sold, it will donate a quarter -- a "quarter back" --- to Best Buddies, a charity supported by Brady and members of PawSox leadership. And all ceremonial first pitches and certain in-game promotions will be used with footballs instead of baseballs.
“Tom Brady is one of the region’s most beloved athletes and public figures,” said PawSox senior vice-president and general manager Dan Rea. “This evening allows PawSox fans, so many of whom are Patriots fans, to show their support for him.”
