FOXBORO -- Once again, Will Svitek was the only Patriot missing from Friday practice. As New England's top backup is not ready to go in Buffalo on Sunday, the job will likely fall to Marcus Cannon, who missed all but the preseason's fourth game.

Rob Gronkowski's presence made for a full week or practice for the tight end. During the media availability window, he went through the usual running and stretching. Head coach Bill Belichick did not tip his hand this morning as to whether or not Gronkowski will play against the Bills.

Reporters walking out to the upper grass fields passed by specialists Stephen Gostkowski, Danny Aiken, and new punter Ryan Allen. Gostkowski was practicing field goals -- a great thing for Allen because the rookie admitted earlier this week he's never held for a kicker in a game situation. Getting more reps on turf is just good business.

The players wore shells and sweats for the workout. They'll go through a walkthrough tomorrow before flying out to Buffalo.
