FOXBORO -- Rob Gronkowski is inactive for New England's Sunday tilt against the Saints. Recovering from multiple procedures performed in the offseason, he's now missed six weeks.
This past week began with a lot of optimism regarding a Gronkowski return. By the time Friday rolled around, multiple reports declared it highly unlikely the tight end would play.
The Patriots will have Stevan Ridley available. The running back did not play against the Bengals because of a thigh bruise. Center Ryan Wendell, who was on the injury report with a concussion, is also active today.
Receiver Austin Collie will make his Patriots debut.
New England will have to make do without Tommy Kelly, who was ruled out before the weekend. The defensive lineman injured his right knee last Sunday in Cincinnati, and missed every practice since. Marcus Forston, who played in just one game last season, was called up from the practice squad Saturday to add depth.
Running back Leon Washington also missed every workout this week and will sit today.
