Gronk doesn't make trip, but no need to panic

When I tweeted that Rob Gronkowski wasn’t out at the Monday’s joint practice session between the Patriots and Redskins, my timeline took a hit.

“Oh no, can you inquire?” one response read.

Another joked (I think) “Panic in the streets.”

And yet another simply stated “no bueno.”

But here, in this space, we can say safely that it's no big deal. Gronkowski has not made the trip to Virgina. The Pats have been cautious with their All-Everything tight end as he makes his way back from ACL surgery, holding him out of all 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 competitions. Thus it should come as no surprise that they didn’t see fit to bring him. No need to put Gronk in that spot, even if some of the work was controlled.

To this point in camp, Gronk has done everything the team has asked, and the knee has responded. There have been no setbacks, and to the eye, it appears as though the 25-year old is gaining confidence with each work day, planting, pushing off and elevating. So don’t worry…and as Gronk would say “Yo soy fiesta.”
