Gresh: Bigger draft need: Cornerback or O-line?

The NFL Draft is rapidly approaching and the New England Patriots have a few needs they could possibly target.

With the departures of Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner, many hope the Pats will try to upgrade at the cornerback position.

On Sports Tonight, Andy Gresh explained why the team doesn't necessarily need to take a cornerback high in the draft.

"I don't necessarily think it's at critical mass, because I think the one thing we're all forgetting about here is the defense is about to change," said Gresh. "Last year it was built on the back end. Now with the maturity of [Chandler] Jones and I know [Dont'a] Hightower is hurt, you brought in another linebacker and you've got Mayo coming back… The strength of the defense is now the front seven."

Gresh andMichael Felger agreed that New England will likely take an offensive lineman with their top pick.

"You can find a top of the draft guard at [pick] 32. Logan Mankins," said Felger. "Guards typically don't go high, so you might be able to get the first, second or third highest rated guard in the draft at number 32. If the corners are that good, they're gone in the top 15. You are going to be picking in that second tier at least, if not the third tier at that position at 32."
