The Patriots passed what many considered to be their first true test of the season with a 30-23 win over the Falcons.

The Patriots’ defense stepped up in big situations, especially Aqib Talib, who knocked away Matt Ryan’s pass on a fourth-and-seven in the final seconds to secure the win.

Michael Felger, Troy Brown, and Mike Flynn talked about Talib’s play against the Falcons on PostGame Live.

“Defensively, obviously, Talib, the guy stood out again,” Flynn said. “He is playing at a different level right now at the cornerback position. He can take guys out of the game.”

Even though the Falcons were able to climb back into it late in the fourth quarter, the Patriots showed they could matchup with what is considered one of the better teams in the NFC.

“They got out to a comfortable lead, which allowed them to make some mistakes late in the game too and still survive it,” Brown said. “I thought the Patriots came to play today. What everybody wanted to see is could they matchup against a pretty good team in the NFC and they did that for the most part tonight.”
