Coming into week four of the NFL season, there are already several storylines playing out throughout the league.

One storyline is right here in New England, with Danny Amendola unable to play as he nurses a groin injury.

Mike Florio of profootballtalk.com joined Tom E. Curran on Quick Slants to talk about Amendola and other NFL news.

“When you consider all the various pressures and stresses and circumstances that would suggest Amendola and the Patriots doing everything possible to justify that investment when Wes Welker is having a great start so far with the Broncos,” Florio said. “You very easily get in a situation where a guy rubs dirt on it, goes back out onto the field and the next thing you know he’s out for a month.”

Another storyline coming from the AFC East is the play of the Miami Dolphins, who are currently 3-0 and are tied with the Patriots for first place.

“I think I’m still going to continue to apply a wait and see approach,” Florio said. “We have seen this movie before where a team goes out and tries to buy a playoff berth by buying up free agents, and usually it has a bad ending.”
