Fells joining Patriots TE contingent

The Patriots have the best tight-end tandem in the NFL but not much behind Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. Over the weekend, they worked to change that, reaching an agreement with tight end Daniel Fells, formerly of the Denver Broncos. After spending three seasons in St. Louis, Fells signed last year with Denver and caught 19 balls for 256 yards with Tim Tebow as his quarterback. Catching passes from a more capable quarterback, those numbers should go up.
His best season in terms of receptions was 2010 when he had 41 catches for St. Louis. The 6-4, 252-pound Fells was undrafted out of UC-Davis in 2006. The Patriots kicked the tires on Fells in 2010 as well but addressed the position then through the draft.
The news of Fells reaching agreement was first reported by The Boston Herald.
