Julian Edelman is moving on to try to find a deal he feels is fair. He and the Patriots could not agree to a new contract before the start of free agency at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, and he will test the market.
A source close to Edelman said that Edelman's side did not believe New England's offer on the table was fair value. Edelman's side also didn't like the fact that the Patriots imposed a deadline for him to respond, according to the source.
As has been the case for Aqib Talib, Edelman has found that the market for his services has been softer than expected.
Edelman has not shut the door on negotiations with the Patriots, however, leaving open the possibility for him to return to New England.
