The New England Patriots don’t like any distractions off the field, and Rob Gronkowski’s actions then may pose a problem.
Ross Tucker joined Tom E. Curran on Quick Slants to discuss whether Gronkowski’s actions fit in with the ‘Patriot Way.’
“To them [Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft] it’s all about football,” Tucker said. “And they want guys to be 100 percent committed to football. And everything he is doing outside football, they are concerned that that would take away from his time spent on football.”
But after a couple back surgeries and four forearm surgeries, Tucker can see why Gronkowski is trying to enhance his brand.
“I think he realized and recognized his football mortality,” Tucker said, “and he is doing whatever he can to try to maximize whatever revenue he can get out of that body as long as he still has that body performing at a high level. I think it is ‘A’ hilarious and ‘B’ probably genius.”
