Free agency is officially set to begin on Tuesday,  but NFL teams have been allowed to "tamper" with players leading up to that day.

Nothing has been leaked out on Wes Welker though, causing some to wonder just what the story is with him and where he'll sign.

Patriots Insider Tom E. Curran joined Mike Felger on Sports Sunday to discuss what could happen with Welker.

"I think this might take a little while, because David Dunn and Brian Murphy, Welker's agents, certainly indicated that they want him on the market to at least stock up the price if somebody else comes out," Curran said. "But I don't know if any team wants to be the stocking horse for the Patriots with Wes Welker and drive up his numbers. So this might take a little while but ultimately he'll be back here."

Felger, on the other hand, doesn't see things the way Curran does. In fact, he thinks there's another team out there already showing Welker the money.

"I get the sense he has somebody," Felger said. "I get a sense he already knows what his offer is, he knows what the team is, and he's just out there because he's waited so long to experience this moment. He wants to get out there in free agency, smell the air, and it's going to be up to the Patriots to match that team's number or not."
