Coming into Sunday night, many questioned if the Patriots were for real after beating teams not considered among the top in the NFL.

Well, the Patriots have silenced their doubters for now, with a 30-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Mike Giardi and Tom E. Curran talked about the Patriots ability to win a game that many thought they would lose.

“To come in here against Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, that compliment of offensive weaponry, and of course Tony Gonzalez, it really was a remarkable performance,” Curran said. “While it did get tight at the end, if you look at recent history, the Patriots lose this game ten times out of ten.”

After some uncharacteristic performances earlier in the season, the Patriots seem to be improving as the weeks go on.

“They are getting better week after week after week,” Giardi said. “That’s what Belichick always says, ‘It’s not what you are in September, it’s what you are in December and January.’ And certainly, they are on an upward plane here.”
