The Patriots are going to the playoffs - but the goal is bigger than that one.
First of all, they'd like a first-round bye.
In order for that to happen, they'll have to beat the Bills on Sunday at Foxboro.
If they lose and Cincinnati wins, they'll be forced to play in the Wild Card round. But looking at the Pats thin roster, it's crazy to see them in the position that they are in. But then again, they seem to do it every season.
Tom E. Curran joined Eric Frede on SportsNet Central to discuss the Pats season so far and their final regular season game coming up on Sunday.
"They have to treat this as importantly as they treated the Baltimore game," Curran said. "They slip up, boom all of a sudden they lose that first round bye if Cincinnati happens to win. The Patriots lose to a Buffalo team that shut out the Dolphins, mind you a Dolphins team that beat the Patriots the week before, now all of a sudden the Patriots don't have a week in which Nate Solder can feel better, and Devin McCourty can feel better, and Shane Vereen's groin can get on the mend."
