So far, Aaron Hernandez’s ex-teammates have been free from the fallout surrounding the Odin Lloyd murder investigation.
But documents released Tuesday could cause investigators to begin asking questions of other Patriots about Hernandez's off-field activities.
According to the Associated Press Hernandez’ associate Carlos Ortiz told investigators that, the day after Lloyd was murdered, Ortiz and Ernest Wallace, another Hernandez associate, “went to an apartment in the area that Hernandez and other football players used.”
The apartment Ortiz is referring to is likely the Franklin apartment investigators found ammunition in last week.
While nothing indicates any other Patriots were involved in the death of Lloyd, investigators may be interested in learning how often Hernandez was at this apparently shared apartment, who came and went, why ammo was stored there, and what Hernandez shared with them about his off-field activities.
In short, anything that could help investigators better understand the machinations of the former Patriots’ off-field lifestyle.
