The New England Patriots announced on Monday night that defensive lineman Armond Armstead had successful surgery to treat an infection
"Armond is in good condition and is expected to make a full recovery. A timetable has not been set for his return to football,” the team announced.
Armstead was signed by New England on February 1, from the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL. He finished his one season with the Argonauts with 43 tackles and six sacks.
Armstead played three seasons with USC before sustaining a heart attack that wiped out his senior year and forced him to go undrafted.
