Tom E. Curran and Mike Giardi go 3-and-out after the Patriots 24-20 loss to the Panthers.

The first topic they discuss is - yet again - injuries to the defense. Alfonzo Dennard is dealing with a knee injury that could force him to miss the game against the Broncos.

"I think that this is awful timing of course for the Patriots," Curran said. "But when you look at it, how will Aqib Talib progress and come back from his injury is most important. I think with Dennard it's interchangeable to a degree with the Arringtons and Marquise Coles. Obviously I think Dennard is a better outside corner than those guys, but it is a concern when you have every level of your defense now impacted significantly."

On 2nd Down the two tackle the Patriots' offense and the need for it to step up with injuries to the defense.

"I think that Monday night was a real case study in the fact that the Patriots offense should have put that game away," Curran said. "The first three drives of the game was a fumble, a sack that backed the Patriots up out of field goal range, and there was a 15-yard penalty on Logan Mankins that also backed them up so they had to scuffle just to get a field goal."

3rd down focuses on the the importance of getting one of the top two seeds in the AFC.

"I think it's very important because there's so much balance with the five teams really who are at the top, could be six if you throw New York in there," Curran said.
