Denis Leary, who plays fictitious Cleveland Browns coach Vince Penn in the soon-to-be-released movie “Draft Day” consulted with Bill Belichick on the script.
And, during a meeting with Belichick, the Patriots head coach inquired who came up with the money-in-the-playbook trick to see which prospects actually studied what they were asked to study.
Neil Best of Newsday relates that Belichick asked Leary, "Who the [expletive] came up with that $100 playbook thing?!"
Leary said he didn’t know. Belichick said it was a tactic he used when scouting quarterbacks.
Draft Day will be released April 11.
