"I learned some things that I didn’t know and we had a long conversation about it," Ainge told the Globe.

Danny Ainge says it's time to move on from the Rajon Rondo birthday situation. We agree. But . . .

In the course of making comments to reporters today, Ainge said this curious thing that deserves a second look:

"I learned some things that I didn’t know and we had a long conversation about it and I’m satisfied with it,” Ainge said. “He learned from it, too. Let’s move on."

Then he added, "Whether it was a mistake or whether it wasn’t a mistake [for Rondo to skip Boston's trip to Sacramento] I think is in question. Second of all, for those that want to assume that it was a mistake, leaders make mistakes. All leaders make mistakes. That’s just part of it. That doesn’t disqualify them as leaders. Leaders learn, too.”

What do you make of Ainge's comments? What is he leaving out? Do you think he and Rondo are on OK terms now? Let us know with a comment and then watch Early Edition tonight to see Gary Tanguay and Kirk Minihane discuss.
