Not many people thought the Celtics had a shot Monday night against the Heat without Kevin Garnett, but it came down to the last shot, although the C's did fall short.

It's safe to say that once again people counted this team out too soon, and despite the loss of key players like Rajon Rondo and Jared Sullinger, the Celtics can still compete.

Gary Tanguay tells Lou Merloni and Ian Thomsen on Sports Tonight that the last two games against the Heat did a lot for the confidence against them going forward, possibly in the postseason.

"For sure. It affirms everything they hope about themselves," Thomsen said. "The way they play and what they do and their approach is more important almost than who's wearing the uniform."
