BOSTON — Doc Rivers has compared the NBA playoffs to being a game of chess.

Well, consider this his first first major move.

While Rivers wouldn't admit to any changes in the starting lineup or bench, the TD Garden JumboTron said it all prior to the opening ceremonies.

Jason Terry was in . . . Brandon Bass was out.

Rivers elected to insert Terry into the starting lineup for Game 3, shuffing his lineup around.

The question now is whether or not Avery Bradley - who Doc Rivers has stated is stuck doing too much right now - or Terry will play the point guard position.

Boston could also shift Paul Pierce or Jeff Green at the small forward and power forward position, depending on matchups.

Prior to the game, the Boston Fire, Boston Police, and Boston Emergency Medical service presented the colors while the Voices of Freedom from the Massachutsetts National Guard and 315th Army Band sang the national anthem.
