To tank or not to tank: That is the question for the Celtics this season.
The C's dealt veterans Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett and assembled a younger corps all in one trade, and now have the look of a team in rebuilding mode.
Kyle Draper, Rich Levine and A. Sherrod Blakely discussed on Celtics Talk TV whether or not it would be worth it for the Celtics to give away a few games in order to contend for a higher draft pick next June.
Blakely doesn't like the idea.
"No, you can't lay down NBA games because it just sets the tone for the rest of your franchise going forward," Blakely said. "Their lack of talent going forward is gonna lose them enough games as it is so you don't want to have to actually go out of your way to try and lose games. But whenever you openly admit to rebuilding, you're taking a step or two back just in acknowledgment.
"So the Celtics, they're not really 'tanking' it, but when you go through the process there's a certain degree of losing games you might otherwise not lose because of the roster you put together."
