Stiemsma signs with Nike

Stiemsma signs with Nike

BOSTON -- The journey of Greg Stiemsma continues as the Boston Celtics rookie signed with Nike just over a week ago.

Im still waiting on getting some gear delivered, he told with an ear-to-ear smile. Im looking forward to it.

Signing with Nike is part of the undrafted 26 year olds whirlwind first season in the NBA. Staying humble, he struggled at times to find the words to express the significance of it all.

It still doesnt seem like thats who I am or thats the reality, he said. Its all part of this experience. Im trying to make it last as much as I can.

Stiemsma currently wears the Hyperfuse sneaker. If the 6-foot-11 center were to create a shoe of his own, it would represent his physical stature and personal style.

It would probably be big and heavy to emulate my feet, he laughed. It would be something simple, nothing crazy. High top, probably a strap. Something simple.

He paused, still smiling and his cheeks red.

Im telling you, talking about it, I guess I really havent thought about it that much, Stiemsma said.

That's okay. He has given people around the NBA plenty to think about this season.
