Brad Stevens is well aware of the challenge ahead of him as the newest coach of the Boston Celtics.
First of all, he's taking over a team on a complete rebuild after unloading a pair of stars in Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.
Second, he has to coach a player in Rajon Rondo who is considered difficult to coach by many, including the Celtics point guard himself.
Perhaps the biggest challenge staring Stevens in the face, however, is the transition he'll be making from college to the NBA.
History certainly isn't on Stevens' side, with notable coaches such as former Celtics coach Rick Pitino failing at the professional level, and the former Celtics coach is well aware of the challenge ahead.
"Everybody's different," Stevens said in his introductory press conference Friday, "but certainly I'm aware of those names and everybody that's made the transition."
