Since the Celtics were eliminated by the Knicks in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, the future of Doc Rivers has been the biggest question facing the team. But after the Celtics and Clippers finally hammered out a deal that will send Rivers to Los Angeles, Danny Ainge and company appear to have some clarity.
Ainge isn't done figuring out the future of the franchise, though. Bob Ryan and Andy Gresh discussed what comes next for the Celtics and reflected on Rivers' decision on UNO Sports Tonight. Ryan said that something must have changed for Rivers after he declared "I am a Celtic" two years ago. While Ryan noted that Rivers has the right to change his mind, he thinks he could have made things easier on himself.
"It would have been so much easier if he had come to this conclusion earlier, or at least at the end of the season," Ryan said.
