Doc Rivers doesn't need to be told how good Paul Pierce is at the game of basketball. But he knows better than most that Pierce doesn't always get the credit he deserves.
"[Pierce has] always been underrated," says Rivers. "I think he's been underrated his whole career. I underrated him [when coaching the Magic].
On Saturday, Pierce only needed to play 23 minutes because the C's removed any doubt early in the second half.
Still, Pierce managed to score 14 points, while tallying six rebounds and eight assists.
"I just tried to let the game come to me," said Pierce.
That's what he's done his entire career, and if that means he continues to be underrated, so be it.
