WALTHAM, MA — When Kevin Garnett isn't on the basketball court, he's usually harder to find than Bigfoot.

But Garnett made a rare appearance on Thursday in his warmup gear towards the end of media availability, and appeared to be in good spirits.

He won't play tomorrow against the Cavaliers, but there's a chance he could suit up on Sunday, according to head coach Doc Rivers.

“I think he’ll be back, maybe as early as Sunday, but I don’t know yet,” Rivers said. “He’s not going to do anything today. He’s doing all the running and stuff in (the team’s practice facilities) and he’ll do some court stuff without the team. And he’ll probably participate in the shootaround (Friday), but I’m not going to play him (Friday), even if he wants to play.”

The Celtics are 3-4 since Garnett was sidelined with ankle inflammation, and they're awaiting his return to hopefully get some stability heading into the postseason. Garnett is averaging 14.9 points and 7.8 rebounds, but does just about everything that doesn't show up in the box score, too.

Garnett was on hand with the rest of the Celtics as they took a few moments to accept an American Flag given to the team by a local air force base that flew the flag in their honor on November 11, 2012 in Afghanistan.
