Boston Celtics second-round draft pick Colton Iverson has signed a one-year deal with Besiktas of the Turkish League, according to Jay King of MassLive.com.
The Celtics still hold Iverson’s rights, but have no space for him on the team roster, as they currently have the NBA maximum of fifteen players under contract. The C’s drafted the seven-footer with the 53rd-overall pick in June’s NBA Draft.
Iverson is coming off an impressive senior season at Colorado State, which he transferred to after three seasons at Minnesota, averaging 14.2 points and 9.8 rebounds in 35 games for the Rams. He averaged 5 points and 5.4 rebounds in the Orlando Summer League in July, pulling down 14 offensive boards in 83 minutes of play.
