Doc on son Austin's big shot: ‘That was a lot of fun for me'

BOSTONMoments before Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers did his pre-game interview session with the media, Lakers coach Mike Brown peeped around the corner, saw the sea of media and said, "All this media, you waiting for Austin or Doc?"

Not even a game between the two most storied franchises in the NBA could trump the buzzer-beating 3-point shot by Doc Rivers' son, Austin, in leading Duke to an improbable come-from-behind win at North Carolina on Wednesday.

Rivers led all scorers with 29 points, which included six 3-pointers.

"That was great; that was a lot of fun for me," said Doc Rivers, who was in attendance. "As a parent, it's fun, you can see your kid play and do well. It's always a ball. You don't have to worry about calling a time-out or anything else. You can just be emotional, and have fun."
