WALTHAMThe Boston Celtics have made a trade for a new guard . . . and his name isn't Chris Paul.
It's Milwaukee's Keyon Dooling, who is expected to be introduced with the Celtics when training camp opens Friday afternoon. The C's traded a future second round pick for Dooling.
The addition of Dooling gives the Celtics a backup to Rajon Rondo, who is still with the Celtics after the C's pursuit of Chris Paul fell through.
Dooling can be a bit of a streaky shooter, but his defense is what makes him a player who should fit in well with the Celtics. One of Dooling's more feisty moments came in January of 2006 when he and current Celtic Ray Allen got into a fight that spilled over into the stands at the Key Arena in Seattle.
Both players were ejected and later suspended, for their respective roles in the fight.
An 11-year NBA veteran, Dooling, a member of the NBA Players Associations' executive board, will earn 2.1 million this season. Last season with the Bucks, he averaged 7.1 points and 3 assists while appearing in 80 games.
