Pending league approval - and we all know that's no longer a given - the Boston Celtics will have a new undersized power forward who, ironically, is also from LSU.
The C's have agreed to a sign-and-trade deal that will send Glen Davis to Orlando in exchange for Brandon Bass, who were former teammates at LSU in 2004-2005.
Yahoo! Sports reports that Davis will receive a four-year, 26 million deal.

The deal could not become official until after league approves it. The earliest that could happen was 2 p.m.
"He's very excited about this opportunity in Boston," his agent Tony Dutt, told CSNNE.com. "Things didn't go quite like we thought they would in Orlando, but he has no hard feelings towards them. He's looking forward to being a Celtic."
The move would officially bring an end to Davis' four-year career with the Celtics, the only team he has ever played for.
While the comparisons between the 6-8 Bass and 6-9 Davis are sure to be made, Bass has a more rounded game offensively - he averaged a career-high 11.2 points per game this past season - while Davis is a better defender.
Overall, the two have comparable skillsets.
So why make the move?
From Orlando's perspective, Bass simply wasn't working out for them. He had shown flashes of being an impact player, but those were few and far between. And it appeared at times he struggled grasping the Magic's defensive concepts.
But whatever shortcomings he had defensively, he had a knack for making up for them with his hustle, effort and intensity.
As for the Celtics, Davis came into free agency looking for a pay increase along with added security. The C's were poised to pay him more than any other team, but were reluctant to give him the kind of financial security he was seeking.
It is unclear what the terms are for Davis' deal with the Magic, but it's believed to be for at least three seasons with a starting salary comparable to Bass' salary which two years and 8 million remaining.
The second year of Bass' deal is a player option, which means he has the potential to opt-out and re-sign a long term deal with the Celtics who at that time, will be a team with plenty of money to spend on potential free agents.
For now, the focus for Bass' camp is for the 6-8 forward to come in and become a difference-maker.
"He just needs to be in the right system, and Doc's system seems perfect for him," Dutt said. "He knows the situation there; that he'll get an opportunity to really show what he can do as a player."
Dutt acknowledges that replacing Davis won't be easy. But Bass, he says, is more than up to the challenge.
"I think the Celtics have upgraded, I really do," Dutt said. "And that's no disrespect to Glen Davis. I think Glen is a very good player; he really is. But Brandon ... he's a special player. And in the right situation, the right system, he can prove that. That's why going to Boston is such a great situation for him."
