The latest and greatest debate that has split sports writers, bar rooms, and families apart is what the Boston Celtics plan should be looking to the future. Some say tank in hopes of a top draft pick. Others say build around the likes of Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green.
The million dollar question in all of this has been what to do with Rondo, the 27-year old star point guard who has the potential of being a franchise centerpiece. Keep him? Trade him? Build around him?
Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated feels the Celtics should keep Rondo around as a player who can help lure in potential free agents or players looking to be traded.
“I am firmly in the camp of ‘don’t trade [Rondo]’,” said Mannix on UNO Sports Tonight. “You need one star player.”
