NEW ORLEANS — Kevin Garnett, out the last two games due to injury and illness, will be back on the floor tonight for the Boston Celtics.

"I'm feeling a lot better," he said prior to Boston's shoot-around this morning.

His return bodes well for a Celtics team looking to bounce back from Monday's last-second loss to the Miami Heat. In addition, the Celtics have lost their last two road games, the last being a 26-point drubbing at the hands of the Charlotte Bobcats who are the worst team in the NBA.

Tonight's opponent isn't that much better, either.

But the Hornets have played well against the Celtics having won four of the last five matchups which includes a 90-79 home loss to New Orleans on Jan. 16.

As for Garnett's return, he is not to expected to have any minutes restrictions beyond what has been in place all season.

Garnett was disappointed that he couldn't play against the Heat, adding that the decision was not an easy one.

"Whenever I don't play, it's a tough call," he said.

And while disappointed with the outcome, Garnett was pleased with the team's overall effort in his absence.

"They played hard," Garnett said. "I thought we played hard. You could see the small mistakes cost us at the end but for the most part, I thought we played together and played hard. Those were very good signs."

The same can be said for his return to action tonight.
