It looks like the Celtics are continuing to clear their roster as the team prepares for a rebuild.

The C's waived guard/forward Terrence Williams Sunday, according to a release from the team.

The 6’6” Williams suited up for the C's in 24 games this past season, averaging 4.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 13.3 minutes per game. He also appeared in five games for the Celtics during the playoffs and averaged 1.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 9.6 minutes per contest.

As ESPNBoston notes, this is not a shocking move, considering the first $200,000 of Williams' 2013-2014 salary was set to become guaranteed if he was still on the team after Sunday.

Of course, this is small news compared to previous moves that facilitated the departure of Doc Rivers, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, but nonetheless this is another instance of the Celtics attempting to shore up their prospects for the future.
