The Celtics announced on Friday that they have signed guard/forward Chris Johnson from the NBA's D-League to a 10-day contract.
Johnson appeared in 20 games for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers this season, averaging 19.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.0 blocks in 37.2 minutes per game.
Johnson, who stands at 6-foot-6, was shooting 47.0 percent from the field, and 36.7 percent from three-point territory. He has the sixth highest offensive rating in the D-League this season amongst all players that have played 10 games or more with a rating of 114.6.
This is not Johnson's first NBA team. He played in eight games for the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2013-13 season, averaging 3.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 12.8 minutes per game.
