BOSTON — When it comes to who the Boston Celtics will select in next month's NBA draft, there's no doubt it'll be Danny Ainge's call.

But head coach Brad Stevens will put his two cents in as well.

"They've included me on everything," Stevens told 98.5 The Sports Hub on Wednesday. "I don't know if that's just to include me, or it's because I have a little more insight than maybe a typical NBA coach would on these individuals coming out."

Stevens finished 25-57 in his first season as the Celtics' head coach, coming to Boston after spending the previous six seasons as the head coach of the Butler Bulldogs.

While Stevens' voice will certainly be heard, he's quick to remind folks that the decision on who's drafted by Boston will not be made by him.

"It's not my ultimate call, but they've been great in including me," Stevens said.

And while some head coaches and GMs tend to not see eye-to-eye on players and how they fit into a particular system, that doesn't seem to be an issue for Stevens and Ainge, Boston's president of basketball operations.

"Danny knows me," Stevens said. "Danny knows how we want to play both ends of the floor. Danny has a great track record in the draft. First and foremost, you trust people to do their job well, especially in a situation like this where it's been good results for a long time. I trust Danny and his staff and I enjoy working with him every day."
