BOSTON — The return of Avery Bradley in January not only turned around the Celtics' season, but established him as one of the league's better defenders.

The 6-foot-2 guard was recognized for his defensive prowess on Monday when he was named to the NBA's All-Defensive second team.

Bradley received a total of 10 first-team votes, tops among all players named to the league's defensive second team and fifth among all players.

The players named to the first team were former Celtic and current Memphis Grizzlies guard Tony Allen who led all players in total points (53) towards the all-defensive team, Miami's LeBron James, Oklahoma City's Serge Ibaka, New York's Tyson Chandler, Chicago's Joakim Noah and Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul.

Joining Bradley on the second team were San Antonio's Tim Duncan, Indiana's Paul George, Memphis center Marc Gasol (who was earlier named the league's Defensive Player of the Year) and Grizzlies guard Mike Conley.
